My car has been tagged!

I parked it the other day on Alvarado proper, a street that I notice other people only park on as last resort, perhaps because you have to make sure your car is moved by 7 am for anti-gridlock reasons, but that is true of many of the other local streets, and I got there in the morning to move my car, and sure enough, in the dust on my windshield, someone had tagged my car with their finger in the dust. I can't decide if I should leave it and feel protected, or remove it, since I am sure there is some other rival gang in the area that will take offense.

From what I can see, it reads Alvarado, an original name for a gang centered on that street.

Sheer laziness, lack of easy access to water and a hose, will leave it there for a few more days. So far, no damage has come as a result. I'm sure no one cares about it here in Santa Monica where I work, but over in the barrio? I haven't parked on Alvarado since that night, just to be safe.
