But Paul misheard.
Or perhaps John
or George
did the mishearing.

It got recorded for posterity
and everyone has always
held such a low
opinion of the intelligence
of Walruses as a result.

But really,
with his mouth full
of wonderful fresh fish,
the Walrus really said,
"How do you do?"
